Mayer Brown boosts corporate & securities practice with partner hire

Mayer Brown has welcomed Allison Lee as a partner in the corporate & securities practice.

With 15 years’ experience advising public and private companies and private equity firms in connection with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, distribution arrangements and secondary sale transactions across Asia, Lee joins from Debevoise & Plimpton where she was a member of the corporate department, and private equity and M&A groups in Hong Kong.

"Allison’s appointment aligns with our strategy of building upon our strongest global core competencies in M&A," said Kevin Sheridan, leader of Mayer Brown’s global corporate & securities practice. “Her experience advising sophisticated insurance companies and financial institutions, as well as her work on behalf of PE sponsors is a perfect match for our M&A strategy across Asia.”

Lee is the latest M&A partner to have joined Mayer Brown in Asia following the recent addition of Eiji Kobayashi in the Tokyo office, and a team of English law and Singapore law qualified corporate lawyers in Singapore.

"I am thrilled to be joining Mayer Brown, which is renowned for its distinctly global and collaborative M&A practice,” said Lee. “The firm has a long-standing commitment to Asia, with impressive capabilities across multiple practice areas that are highly complementary to my practice. I look forward to further helping our clients achieve their strategic corporate and investment objectives in the region."

A partner with Mayer Brown LLP, she will become a partner of Mayer Brown Hong Kong upon completion of the relevant requirements with the Law Society of Hong Kong.
