Macpherson Kelley, a leading commercial law firm in Australia, has announced the appointment of Principal Lawyer Esteban Gomez and Special Counsel Jane Sun to their respective Commercial teams. This move is expected to bolster the firm's commercial expertise and provide new strengths to the team.

Highly Regarded Principal Lawyer Esteban Gomez

Esteban Gomez is a highly regarded Principal Lawyer with 20 years of experience in corporate transactions and advisory work. He has worked in private practice and in-house roles, and his expertise includes advising companies at every stage of the life cycle.

National Managing Principal Lawyer Grant Guenther said that Esteban will bring valuable skills to the Brisbane office.

He said: "Esteban will add to our strength in unregulated M&A for predominantly medium and large private organizations. In addition to this, he will give us skills in regulated transactions and capital raising – from venture capital and start-ups through to mature businesses."

Esteban has sought-after experience in complex cross-border transactions and is admitted to practice in Queensland, as well as being a solicitor in England and Wales (non-practicing) and an attorney in the USA (New York) (non-practicing).

Grant Guenther also praised Esteban's leadership skills and commercial approach to managing challenging work on tight timelines.

"I have no doubt he will fit seamlessly into our high-performing Brisbane office," he said.

Special Counsel Jane Sun's Expertise

Jane Sun, a Special Counsel, is joining the Commercial practice ranks at Macpherson Kelley. Her experience in advising Chinese business enterprises on their global investment projects makes her a valuable addition to the team.

She specializes in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and has over 20 years of experience in this field.

Special Counsel Linda Huan said, "I’ve seen Jane walk clients through the complexities of a commercial venture firsthand, and her patience and drive will be a massive drawcard for our client base at Macpherson Kelley."

Jane's expertise is well-aligned with Macpherson Kelley’s international experience and history advising Chinese businesses trading locally and Australian businesses trading overseas.

She will be co-head of Macpherson Kelley’s China Group along with Linda Huan.
