Lander & Rogers launches environment and planning team with NRF hire

Lander & Rogers has launched an environment and planning team with former Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) Australia special counsel Tom White.

The new offering will be part of the firm’s real estate and projects and infrastructure teams.

White has spent over 10 years providing guidance on all facets of environment and planning law. His experience spans all levels of government, namely, Commonwealth, state, and local.

He has worked with private landowners, developers and institutional investors on complex development projects and infrastructure. He has assisted on land acquisition, planning, environmental, heritage and contamination matters for Transport for NSW, such as the Northern Road Upgrade, the Northern Beaches B-Line, the Gateway Project, the WestConnex Project, and the Northern Beaches link.

White also worked with the Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation on developing special activation precincts and with Energy Corporation on establishing renewable energy zones in regional NSW.

John Wells, partner and national practice group leader of real estate and projects at Lander & Rogers, said that White’s extensive sector knowledge would “enhance our ability to meet client demand for critical advice on complex projects, through an environmental lens". White added that he was eager to help clients to “navigate the challenges of operating in a modern economy with an increased focus on environment and sustainability".
