A prominent firm has launched an exhibition program aimed at assisting emerging artists to build networks and gain exposure.
A prominent firm has launched a program aimed at assisting emerging artists by using their new office space as a gallery.
Hall & Wilcox has established the exhibition program as part of the next stage of their transition to open office spaces. The program aims to encourage an innovative and creative attitude within the firm, and build links with the artistic community.
The firm also plans to acquire some of the works exhibited for permanent display in its offices.
The first exhibition, which will officially open on 28 May, will feature the work of emerging artists Glenn Mossop and Mat de Moiser, with subsequent exhibitions alternating between the Sydney and Melbourne offices on a bi-monthly basis.
“As a progressive firm we look for inspiration in many places, and welcome the opportunity to support emerging artists,” said partner Natalie Bannister.
“Part of that was to use our premises to encourage some of our core values like progressiveness and links with the community.
“We think displaying emerging art will inspire our people, just in their daily practice.”
For now, the selection process is a casual one, with artists chosen by a panel of enthusiasts at the firm, although Bannister said the firm has hopes of growing the number of emerging Australian artists that have the opportunity to exhibit through the program.
