HopgoodGanim backs up merger with new partner

HopgoodGanim has tapped Allion Legal for further partnership depth in the energy and resources sector in Perth, following its merger with Q Legal in late 2012

HopgoodGanim has tapped Allion Legal for further partnership depth in the energy and resources sector in Perth, following its merger with Q Legal in late 2012.

The firm has recruited former Allion Legal principal Simon Panegyres into the energy and resources team, which currently includes partners Kevin Dundo, Nino Odorisio and Robyn Ferguson.

Energy and resources business growth was a key factor in HopgoodGanim’s merger with Q Legal in 2012, when the firm’s partner tally first cracked 30 lawyers. The addition of Panegyres brings partner headcount up to a total of 34.

Panegyres said that he had over time encountered HopgoodGanim on “more and more transactions” during its expansion into the energy and resources sector in Perth.

Head of the practice in Perth, Martin Klapper, said the firm hoped the addition of Panegyres would help accelerate local practise growth.
