Hicksons Lawyers’ partnership is now 55% women following the promotion of Katrina Jenkins as the firm’s 29th partner.

The firm said that the promotion emphasises its commitment to empowering female leaders in the profession.

Meanwhile, the firm also elevated Mish Wijesuriya to special counsel. She works with the real estate and construction team, having commenced with Hicksons in August 2020.

She has handled disposals and acquisitions, projects and development, titling, due diligence, property financing, and commercial, industrial, and retail leasing.

Marcus Andersson ascended to senior associate after less than a year with the firm’s health practice. He has defended litigated and unlitigated civil claims, tackled coronial inquests, and worked on professional conduct and medical negligence matters.

Tayah Stevenson has been promoted to senior associate. She has worked with legal profession regulatory authorities, builders and contractors, developers, companies and individuals; initially, she was a paralegal in Hicksons Lawyers’ commercial litigation team.

These four lawyers took up their new roles on 1 January.
