Here are the latest top lawyers who have left KWM EUME for other law firms
King & Wood Mallesons Europe is continuing to haemorrhage senior lawyers with the struggling organisation seeing seven top lawyers transfer to other firms last week.

According to reports from The Lawyer and Legal Business, the new hires at other firms include Europe, UK and Middle East (EUME) senior partner Michael Cziesla who was elected to his previous post just last October.

Baker McKenzie has hire equity partner Will Holder, who previously headed the EU arm’s China Group, and employment partner Carl Richards, who headed the firm’s employment group. They will be bringing with them five associates to their new home.

Meanwhile, Stephen Harwood has hired three private equity partners. Jonathan Pittal – the former UK private equity co-head at KWM EUME – and colleagues Warren Allan and Gabriel Boghossian will join the firm.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher has, on the other hand, hired investment funds co-head Nathalie Duguay as an asset management partner. Duguay, according to Legal Business, was a top ten biller at legacy SJ Berwins.

Cziesla is headed to McDermott Will & Emery’s Frankfurt office which means Tim Bednall, KWM EUME managing partner, is now the sole senior management left at the beleaguered organisation.

Cziesla and Bednall had been working hard to try to save KWM EUME, including negotiating deals with the independent Australia and China arms of the Swiss Verein, plans which never materialised. KWM EUME is expected to enter into administration soon.
