Clifford Chance has announced an expansion of a key part of its strategy to create greater value for its clients.
The firm will launch ‘Hubs’ across its worldwide footprint, and has appointed ‘Champions’ in some regions, to support its strategy called Best Delivery.
"Best Delivery is all about securing the best outcomes for our clients, coupled with greater value and efficiency in legal service delivery. The growth of our Best Delivery capability around the world with our investment in the Hubs and in appointing partner Champions is critical to our success,” Oliver Campbell, Global Head of Client Service Solutions at Clifford Chance explains.
The Best Delivery Hub for Asia Pacific in Singapore will be supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board, as recently reported by Australasian Lawyer.
It will be joined by hubs in New York and Dubai for the Americas and Middle East respectively; three hubs in London to support key practice areas; and a virtual hub for Continental Europe.
The hubs bring together Continuous Improvement, Legal Project Management and Legal Technology and coordinate with local Resource Management, Pricing, Pitching support and Knowledge teams.
Freshfields appoints former KWM partner as China competition co-head
Hazel Yin has joined the partnership of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as co-head of its China competition practice.
The former King & Wood Mallesons partner will work in Beijing and brings a highly successful practice advising multinational and Chinese clients on inbound and outbound merger control, regulatory investigations and antitrust risk and compliance.
“The Asia region in general and China in particular remain key focuses for the firm and our competition practice. Hazel’s appointment reinforces that commitment and I am confident that she will add significant value to our clients,” commented Freshfields’ China Chairman, Teresa Ko.
HFW hires Jones Day construction partner in Hong Kong
Ben Bury is joining the Hong Kong office of HFW as a partner in its construction practice.
He joins from Jones Day and becomes the firm’s sixth new addition to the construction practice in the past 15 months including partners and senior associates in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
The practice in Asia Pacific is overseen by construction partner Martin Downey.
"Ben is another great addition to our international construction group. He brings considerable experience and expertise in international arbitration across the Asia-Pacific region and is highly respected by clients and the wider market,” he says.
