Global eFuels company HIF Global has snapped up former Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) partner Juan-José Zentner as its new CLO.

The new executive team member will oversee HIF Global’s legal strategy, as well as the contracts and commercial agreements of the company’s eFuels projects across Australia, the US, Latin America and EMEA. He will also provide legal advice on financing processes, legal risk analysis and compliance.

Zentner brings significant experience in projects, energy, and infrastructure, having been part of the team at HSF for over 10 years. He headed up the firm’s Latin American projects practice, and often acted for clients in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil – work that has been recognised by Chambers Global and The Legal 500.

He practised across Sydney, Melbourne and New York, handling matters involving construction contracts, off-take agreements and other project documentation.

“We are very happy to have Juan-José joining our executive team. His international career in project development and project finance expertise will be invaluable to our expanding businesses in the United States, Latin America, Australia, and the EMEA region”, HIF Global CEO and President Cesar Norton said.
