Emmeline McIllree has been announced as Gilchrist Connell's new chief people officer.

McIllree steps into the role with immediate effect, taking over for Belinda Cohen who becomes Gilchrist Connell's CEO on 1 July.

"Emmeline brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to build and sustain a thriving organisation that keeps its clients and its people at the heart of everything it does. Her leadership style and values are a perfect match for Gilchrist Connell, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the team", Cohen said. 

McIllree was previously a talent director at Deloitte. She brings a strong background in human resources and executive leadership, having also recorded stints at Tesserent as CPO and PwC Australia as human capital director - internal firm services and financial advisory.

In addition, she held senior roles with the St Kilda Football Club, Australia Post, and Telstra, according to LinkedIn.

McIllree and Cohen will work closely together until the end of June to facilitate McIllree's transition into her new position.
