Clayton Utz has added a new partner in Sydney.

Graeme Tucker has joined the firm’s banking and financial services group. He comes from legacy Blake Dawson, which he joined as a special counsel in 2008 after moving from South Africa. He has been a partner at Ashurst since 2011.

A banking and finance specialist, Tucker’s practice covers asset-based lending, trade and asset finance, corporate and acquisition finance, debt restructuring, and debt and portfolio trading transactions. His clients include major financial services entities and companies. He has particular expertise in the Personal Property Securities Act.

Tucker said that he was attracted to the firm’s collaborative, team-based approach to working with clients, as well as its client service focus. He said it is particularly attractive to be a part of the cross-practice collaboration between the firm’s national banking and financial services, restructuring and insolvency, and corporate and M&A practice groups.

Bruce Cooper, Clayton Utz deputy executive partner and head of the firm’s clients and markets and banking and financial service groups, said that the appointment gives clients access to a broader range of specialist finance law services.
