Last month, Hicksons | Hunt & Hunt and Holman Webb Lawyers announced the formation of a strategic alliance that expanded Hicksons | Hunt & Hunt’s presence and team. Australasian Lawyer had a chance to sit down with Hicksons | Hunt & Hunt managing partner Cameron Leaver and Holman Webb chairman Wendy MacDonnell recently; in this interview, the two leaders discuss why the decision was made to team up, and what they see as the main benefits of the alliance.

 

What spurred the decision to form an alliance?

The joining of forces between Hicksons | Hunt & Hunt and Holman Webb Lawyers represents a strategic collaboration designed to merge our collective capability and reach.

Formed with our clients firmly in mind, it was a logical step in delivering an expanded legal offering across a broader range of industries and jurisdictions, directly responding to our clients’ evolving needs.

Both firms share a strong commitment to innovation and to adapting to rapidly changing client needs. Hicksons | Hunt & Hunt’s recognised leadership in developing AI-driven solutions to enhance client service was also an important factor for Holman Webb’s leadership.

Can you walk us through the process of completing the merger?

We will be operating under one banner and, in the coming months, will be co-located in a single office premises.

What will change in the way both firms have operated?

This alignment brings a closer collaboration between the two firms, allowing us to share our expertise, resources, and best practices more effectively. It also increases our national footprint, with offices across Australia enabling us to offer greater service to clients wherever they do business.

While both firms will continue to operate with the same commitment to quality and client service it expands capabilities across key practice areas, and enhanced support for both clients and our people.

What do you see as the overall biggest benefit of this combination?
