Gilbert + Tobin is advising ASX-listed Aurora Oil & Gas on a $2.6 billion acquisition deal by oil and natural gas company Baytex

Gilbert + Tobin is advising ASX-listed Aurora Oil & Gas on a $2.6 billion acquisition deal by oil and natural gas company Baytex.

Gilbert + Tobin, led by partners Neil Pathak, Marcello Cardaci and Sarah Turner, have arranged an acquisition scheme in which Baytex will acquire Aurora for $4.10 a share.

“We have acted for Aurora for a number of years and have seen the company grow and develop, so it is very pleasing to be able to assist them with this significant transaction,” Cardaci said.

The scheme has the approval of Aurora’s directors who are recommending Aurora shareholders vote in favour of the Baytex acquisition.

Aurora is an Australian and Toronto listed oil and gas company focussed on the Eagle Ford Shale region in Texas and is engaged in the development and production of oil, condensate and natural gas.
