Russell Kennedy acts on sale of dairy distributor

Russell Kennedy has advised Marsh Dairy Products on its sale to Extra Mile Food.

The Russell Kennedy team was led by principal Rory Maguire (corporate advisory/M&A), with assistance from associate Jaqueline Wilson (corporate advisory/M&A), senior associate Abbey Burns (employment), and special counsel Samantha Taylor (property).

Marsh Dairy Products is involved in the wholesale and distribution of bulk dairy ingredients, including bulk cheese and butter, and all forms of standard milk powder, to supermarkets, food service customers and industrial users both in Australia and overseas. It operates an export-grade facility in Melbourne.

Extra Mile Food specialises in sourcing, contract manufacturing, and sales and marketing of Australian and international food and beverages.

Russell Kennedy advised on all legal aspects of the transaction, and MVA Bennett acted as financial advisors to the vendor.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

“We were thrilled to assist the founders of Marsh Dairy Products with the successful sale of this long-standing contributor to the Australian dairy industry,” said Maguire. “Completing this transaction in the current COVID-19 climate was a positive result for all involved, and it was pleasing to see our team effectively navigate the various challenges that deal execution is currently facing. We look forward to seeing the business continue to prosper under its new stewardship.”
